Jade Mountain Resort vacay during Covid-19

Where do I begin? My stay at Jade Mountain was only the beginning of our journey to St. Lucia. As a Virtuoso Travel Advisor I was very excited about my trip to St. Lucia. It was an opportunity for me to cultivate my Honeymoon and Group Clients. Jade Mountain Resort is very well known as a "high end resort" with amazing views of the Pitons. The sustainable element of the resort was also intriguing to me. After a long scenic drive from UVF we arrived at Jade Mountain and were greeted very warmly by, Winsia for a three night stay.

We felt very safe from the airport arrival, transfer to the resort and upon arrival to Jade Mountain. Masks were worn, hand sanitizer was applied and temperatures were taken. We were greeted with your signature drink, the Bentley--delicious and refreshing. Our Major Domo, Toyan then escorted us to our sanctuary as they sanitized our luggage before bringing it to our sanctuary. As we walked through the resort we were awed by the architecture of the bridges, the tall towers, the lush greenery, and of course the kindness Toyan showed us.

Your pampering Major Domo is a fancy name for Butler. They will pamper you and make all your wishes come true.

We approached the bridge to our sanctuary, JE2. We strolled across the bridge admiring the scenery below, until we arrived at our door. Greeted by an enormously oversized wood door, our jaws now dropped as we gazed at what was behind it. The first visual was St. Lucia's World Heritage Site, the majestic Pitons. Our sanctuary was from a fairy tale--truly magical. The picturesque absent wall including a large infinity pool looking into the Caribbean Sea and beautiful Pitons. Many resorts now boast a plunge pool for guests, make no mistake, this is an infinity pool not a plunge pool. Every turn in our sanctuary was one wow moment after another. The beautiful four poster bed allowing for views of the Caribbean Sea and majestic Pitons. The addition of a sitting area and lounge chairs to enhance your view.  A very thoughtful note from the owners was a beautiful touch to our sanctuary. Towels were placed strategically throughout the sanctuary, on the lounge chairs, at the pool area, and more. Jade Mountain Resort did not miss a beat!  We then climbed up a few steps to the open spacious bathroom where whether you were using the shower or whirlpool bath you had an amazing view! Toyan was extremely detailed and welcoming.

My Sanctuary JE2

Each of the 24 infinity pool sanctuaries at Jade Mountain St. Lucia is a carefully designed, individual work of art and architecture. All of the sanctuaries celebrate an unparalleled view of the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea. An additional panoramic quality is provided by sanctuaries on particular elevations and those located on corners. Expect grand sweeping spaces where bedroom, living area and the extravagant private infinity pool glide into one another to form extraordinary platforms floating out into nature. All sanctuaries feature 15ft high ceilings and are designed with the 4th wall open to the views while at the same time allowing for complete privacy. All other aspects, layout and size vary from sanctuary to sanctuary. Four rate categories of infinity pool sanctuaries have been created to reflect the square footage of the sanctuaries and size of pool: STAR, MOON, SUN and GALAXY. In addition to the 24 infinity pool sanctuaries, there are 5 Sky whirlpool suites which feature a large bath tub for 2, but do not have a private pool.

Toyan was extremely detailed and welcoming. I don't think I ever want to leave, yet we were famished from our early flight and Toyan escorted us to the Jade Club where we met Dwight who took care of us with a delicious lunch and drinks.

Naturally the views from Jade Club were breathtaking too. Because of the pandemic we were not able to sit at the bar. Yet tables were perfectly spaced for social distancing. The sitting area was a nice addition to allow for a casual dish or drink, followed by a gorgeous infinity pool and the dining area to the far right. It was undoubtedly a perfect dining spot with views of the majestic Pitons. We were escorted to the roof top bar where lounge chairs were socially distanced throughout the top floor providing a stunning 360° view of Soufriere, the Caribbean Sea, the majestic Pitons and incredible resort! Selfie heaven. It was a great spot to enjoy a cocktail before dinner and maybe catch the sunset. [we were lucky to see a wedding on property, positioned on the roof top]

Jade Club Rooftop Views

The Jade Club Rooftop or better known as The Celestial Terrace offers one of the Caribbean's most spectacular wedding locations possible. Also a perfect spot for a drink and admiring the sunset. With a 360 degree panoramic view of St. Lucia's Unesco World Heritage Site, the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea, it is an ideal location for couples with or without a wedding party. This is an excellent location for a welcome reception and can also be used for the wedding dinner itself.

Dining at Jade Mountain was truly a Michelin Star experience [huge accolades to the chef] whether we enjoyed breakfast, lunch or dinner. Lester, Oyre, Johnella, Junior, Marine, Ned and the entire staff at Jade Club made our stay and experience a special memorable moment. We enjoyed our conversations and the many laughs we shared with the entire staff but especially Lester. Wish we were there yesterday to celebrate his birthday. Through our conversations, we discovered the staff at Jade have been there for several years in whole because of how much they admire the owners and look up to them for supporting the local community.

I started this email mentioning how Travel Advisors see Jade Mountain as a high end resort. I would now like to say it is so much more.  I hope my clients can feel the  magical experience through my eyes. "Jade Mountain is truly magical!" The perk of a chef bento box surprise each afternoon is such a treat! Turn down service is as magical as the view! Your lights are dimmed, your bed canopy is surrounding the bed along with a towel art and heart chocolates are set aside the bed in a crystal heart shaped candy dish with a bottle of water on each side of the bed. The chocolates are made at the Chocolate Factory at Jade Mountain. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we were unable to experience this--a reason to come back.   The evening sounds of the Caribbean Sea, the splashes of the infinity pool, the chirping of birds, the scent of the incense set on the pool's ledge was so memorable. Rising in the morning to the sounds of the birds and majestic Pitons was so impressive! Toyan showed us the ear plugs and eye mask during our walk through, I couldn't imagine using them it would be a huge insult to the impressive views and sounds that Jade Mountain boasts.

Okeita was very helpful in arranging our tours as were the other Major Domos. I was recovering from a sprained ankle and the staff was so accommodating to my needs. My husband went Scuba Diving and was so happy he did it! He was impressed with the diving along the shore of the beach. He also took part in the Jungle Bike Ride and really appreciated his one on one with Javon as he learned so much about St. Lucia's plants, trees, fruits, plantation and so much more. I had a relaxing day at the spa as Ashley's time with me went too fast. I was able to peek into their sister resort closer to the beach, Anse Chastanet [I'll share photos on a different blog post]. The beach is walkable or you can request the shuttle to drive you down. I opted for the shuttle because of my ankle. The shuttle drivers were very pleasant and kind as well.

Anse Chastanet Beach

JADE MOUNTAIN rises majestically above a 600-acre lush tropical resort estate of ANSE CHASTANET, considered to be one of the Caribbean's most unique and scenically spectacular settings imaginable, near the St. Lucia's famous Piton Mountains, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Part of the 600-acre resort estate is two beautiful, natural, soft sand beaches with an abundance of pristine coral reefs right offshore. The Anse Chastanet Beach is the quintessential Caribbean resort beach where guests can laze the day away on a cozy beach chair in the shade provided by a private beach hut while your every need is taken care of by our resort team. Minted cool spray, towel service, fruit kebabs, and sorbet are all part of the daily beach experience. Should you be lured by the rhythmic waves rolling ashore, snorkeling and water sports are but a few paces away. The resort’s second beach, Anse Mamin, is located to the north and can be reached by our complimentary Resort Shuttle Boats or a ten-minute stroll along the scenic coastline. With a well-earned reputation as one of the most beautiful and exotic beaches on island, Anse Mamin is the perfect location for guests who desire a more laid back romantic atmosphere. With the rustic Jungle Beach Bar & Grill on hand, the resort team will ensure a memorable day is enjoyed by all.

The generous departing gift Naharaja gave us was unexpected and left such a special touch. Lester running across the bridge to say goodbye again and gifting us with two chocolate bars made on the resort was so touching since we didn't experience the chocolate factory.

Our experience was so memorizing and memorable largely due to the breathtaking resort and went hand in hand with the heart warming staff who has now become like family to us. The gift of being able to experience Jade Mountain Resort is such a special memory. I would highly recommend this gorgeous resort! I left a piece of me back in Saint Lucia and hope I will make my journey back to retrieve it.
