Sandals Regency La Toc trip during COVID-19

My stay at Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia was so much fun. I think it may be my favorite Sandals Resort! Sandals has complimentary transfers to/from the airport making it an easy arrival to the resort. The resort is about 1.5hr from UVF through some windy roads, but nice scenery. The Luxury All Inclusive resort will amaze you as you approach through the long drive way onto the resort. Butler and Club Sandals Level guests have their own check in areas. You leave your bags and allow them to be brought to your room. As a Club Level guest you are taken to the Club Concierge in an air conditioned room, welcomed with a nice cool wash cloth and welcome drink. There are also snacks available for you while you wait for your check in. Please note the snacks at Club Sandals change throughout the day. In the afternoon they offered chocolate rum balls and coconut balls. They knew I was infatuated by the chocolate rum balls. If you are a chocolate fan, these were out of this world!

We were checked in and ready to be escorted to our room, Sunset Bluff Oceanview One Bedroom Suite with balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub. Wow that's a big word but so was the suite. It was beautiful! Updated modern furniture, a tub in the room as well as the soaking tub on the balcony. A large walk in shower was also a perk. No need to bring your own toiletries, Sandals provides their Red Lane Spa toiletries that have a beautiful aroma to them.

These are also sold in the spa if you fall in love with them. A large separate sitting area with a TV, bar, and refrigerator. Open you're curtains to the walk out balcony where the beautiful tranquility soaking tub sits to admire a beautiful Caribbean backdrop of swaying palm trees and cobalt blue water.

Sunset Bluff One Bedroom Suite

Situated along the Sunset Oceanview Bluff, these newly renovated Love Nest Butler Suites grant stunning views of the sea and hillside. Relax in the comfort of a spacious, modern living room appointed with custom crafted furnishings, an HD Smart television, fully stocked bar, and plush seating. The master bedroom features a king-size bed, additional HD Smart television, and large windows framing unforgettable views of the sea. The en-suite spa style bathroom features modern finishes, a backlit mirror with long vessel sink, shower, and free standing soaking tub. Just outside the living room is a furnished private balcony or patio including a bistro set and Tranquility Soaking Tub for two, where you can enjoy al fresco dining with the ocean as your backdrop. Butler Elite and 24-hour room service are included

Ready to arrange your Sandals Getaway

Being an All Inclusive resort, you have access to food throughout the day. If your staying in a Butler room you are given a phone and assigned a Butler to assist with any needs you may have during your stay. Want someone to unpack for you? Spa Appointments? Golf Tee Times? fill your tranquility tub and add a touch of rose petals? restaurant reservations? and so much more....the Butlers are there for you. You will need to book your room with a Butler to have this special pampering while on resort.

If you're staying in the Sunset Bluff accommodations, Honeymoon Hideaway, or Millionaire Bluff Suites calling your Butler who will zip up the hill on their golf cart to drive you down the resort to where you need to go is helpful and saves you wait time. Actually if you're in a Millionaire Bluff Suite, you have a Butler in a car who will move you about the resort. I visited a Millionaire suite during my stay. Gorgeous, stunning, amazing unobstructed 180° views! You really don't have to leave your suite, you can ask your Butler for room service and enjoy your suites outdoor plunge pool and whirlpool. If you must, your Butler will drive you in a car to where you want to go. I was fortunate enough to drive with the Butler to/from the suite as I couldn't make it up/down the hill with my sprained ankle. Thank you Jachinta for thinking of me.

Sandals has a no tipping policy. Everything I'm referencing is included in your stay. If you are in a Butler room I suggest and Sandals does allow you to tip them at the end. They are fully trained through the Guild of Professional English Butlers, it is very obvious once you go Butler you won't go back.

Millionaire Suite

BUT not everyone can splurge on a Butler suite, that's okay because there are some other really nice options. If you're staying up on the hill, you can simply wait for a shuttle to take you down/up the hill as they come every few minutes. OR I saw many guests walking down as the weather was perfect. During COVID-19 you need to make dinner reservations. If you have Butler or Club Sandals you can do this during check in. If not, you can simply go to the dining desk on the bottom level of the main building and make your dinner reservations. On a typical non COVID-19 stay, there are only two restaurants requiring reservations. Also, the perk of playing at all of the Sandals Resorts is not available during the pandemic. Outside of the pandemic you can hop on the shuttle to go between resorts.

The shuttle within the resort is easy and quick. The drivers are very nice and fun. In particular one driver by the name of Bunz--look for him especially in the evenings as he will make your transfer VERY memorable. It's a nice surprise. You may even take a longer ride just because of this special treat from him.
There are nine restaurants to enjoy your dining experiences. My favorites are Bella Napoli during the day as your lounging on the beach or pool area. The best pizza! Chef Gehron has been awarded for his wood oven pizza's. Armando's Restaurant, Chef Andrea is so talented! Again, from Italy, the accent will give it away. Kerline your host will have a huge smile and make your evening special. The Pitons was a really special evening, the views from the open air restaurant and a delicious dinner. The Cricketer's Pub is open late night for some bar food [delicious french fries]and drinks. The Grand Dining Adventure is the Pavilion area where many people will dine. I was staying on the hill so I had my morning breakfast at Armando's and dinner throughout the resort. There are temperatures taken at each restaurant, masks are optional for guests.

It's usually resort casual at most restaurants. Ladies wear nice dresses or shorts. I saw many with high wedges, I don't think it's necessary on the island.  I would bring a couple of nice sandals or flip flops to finish off your outfit. Especially if you're walking around the resort with the hilltops and stairs it's a lot with high wedges. This is coming from someone who sprained her ankle before the trip. Also, if you're getting in and out of the shuttle a really short outfit can be uncomfortable. Men can wear nice shorts and a polo shirt with nice flip flops, sandals or closed shoes.

It was harder to do during COVID-19 but Sandals encourages you to try the different restaurants so you could have an appetizer at one, move to another for your entree and top off your dessert somewhere else.

My favorite part of Sandals La Toc was the beauty of the resort and the views. Every turn I took I saw beautiful landscapes, swaying palm trees, and water water water! Simple cobalt blue. If you want a lot of party and life, the main pool area would be more your speed. The beach is close to there as well. Cabana's on the beach are on a first come basis. The Cabana's on the beach near the Pitons restaurant are for a fee and include a cooler of your requested drinks for you to enjoy your day. The beach is stunning yet intimate.

The pool near Armando's is quiet but has a bar so if you don't want the entertainment and lots of people this is where I spent most of my time. If you want lots of quiet there's a quieter pool near the Piton restaurant with no bar. There are hiding spots throughout the resort, viewing areas, lounge chairs with fire pits, etc. for you to enjoy. Pool tables, Ping Pong and Jenga for the game enthusiasts.

Sandals La Toc Emerald of the Caribbean

If you're a certified diver, Sandals is perfect for you as you can dive everyday as long as you don't dive on the day before your return flight home. Wendy at the Dive Shop is so knowledgeable about the sea life. She's the perfect dive instructor! If you aren't a certified diver, let me know if it's something you'd be interested in and I'll talk you through how to get certified and make the most of your time on island. Hobie Cats, Kayaks, and more are available as well as snorkeling equipment. Keep in mind this is all included, so there's never a dull day while you're on vacation.

Another perk of the Sandals in St. Lucia is Tee Time! Yes, golfing! Beautiful 9-hole course available at La Toc and an18-hole course available at Sandals St. Lucia Golf and Country Club. The green fees and transfer to amongst the courses are included. Clubs, golf carts and shoes  are for a nominal fee.

Truly a beautiful resort! The crescent shaped beach, stunning views, bluffs, and so much more--it's a honeymoon paradise, couples getaway, girls getaways, Divers Heaven, Golfers Retreat and the list goes on!
